John is watching web-series, movies, and some trending controversies such as ‘Tik-Tok V/s YouTube’; ‘Sushant Singh Rajput V/s Bollywood’.

And on the other side, his twin brother — Sam, is learning some online-courses and also he recently got selected in a Content-Writing internship.

John and Sam are twins studying in the 2nd year of college. And during the lockdown, on the due cause of COVID-19 pandemic, everyone is in the home, by having no choice.

Sam is neither a studious-guy nor a quirky bookworm, in fact, he, too, watches his favorite animation movies, shows, but he believes in managing both to enjoy both.

The only difference between John and Sam is —

The time of getting awake; of being aware of the importance of the internet and it’s proper usage.

Therefore, whenever you enter John’s room, you’ll see him lying on the bed uncomfortably half-crouched, laptop on the pillow and pillow on his lap, with big high-quality headphones at ears, and a cup of coffee on his right side of dressing-table, binge-watching the TV shows. Only.

And there’s nothing to describe how productive Sam is! (you know it very well)

So, what has majorly impacted young minds like Sam and John?

Even though both of them are living in the same environment along with the same age, why is there not even a similarity of hairbreadth?

This is really unprecedented behavior to our society, and discussing till the end you are going to know how strong the impact is. Is it good, in the majority, or bad?

Lockdown effects (Especially on young minds)

Online Learning

As we all are knowing that the entire world has been shifted to online platforms due to pandemic and lockdown.

Many colleges, institutions, and schools have already announced that they will continue their next semester on online platforms.

It sounds so peculiar by knowing this from some sources, in which, it says, the school-uniform is still compulsory before entering the online-class for the school-students.

Besides this, Harvard University, the world’s top university, has made almost every course available for free on their website.

This has paved a window of opportunity for those who eagerly want to learn something new and aren’t able to afford it.

And if you go to enroll in the course, you’ll notice that many students have grabbed this opportunity either to upgrade their skill set or to learn a new one.

Essence Of Work From Home

Some social platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Indeed, Freelance, etc are popping up in everyone’s head because of the Work From Home concept.

Understanding the essence of remote work, experts in the field of freelancing are spreading awareness through webinars on — ‘Why a student should be doing freelancing?’

Not only this, but lockdown also has allowed us to spend time on our creativity.

Creative-Time

Personally, I have loved Doraemon since childhood. So, during these days, I even picked up my color box and just filled the colors in my coloring-book.

Yep, this sounds so childish. But art is art. Art is fun, actually.

Look how well I’ve coloured this, of-course I’m bad at drawing mate ;p

Many of my friends are good painters, do beautiful sketching, sings, dances and I think you too can relate this with me. Nonetheless, you, me and every one of us has such friends in common, don’t you think so?

Here’s where we can say, it has impacted the importance of creative arts.

Family-Time

A 9 to 5, office worker as if a robot, most of the parents, have never imagined such a long-break, that has happened this summer.

Though we had no choice so far but to stay at home, one thing is pretty agreeable that almost all of us got a great chance to enjoy with our family. This actually brought us a light of the importance of what family is.

Eating-habits

The greatest change would be the improvement in eating habits, for me. From that day forward lockdown was announced, the food-intake is looming from only one source — home.

And, almost all of us can understand that ‘Simple is Sustainable’.

Needless to say, health must be our first priority. And this has influenced a good-change, let us hope, every young person out there continues this major understanding.

Exercise

We can put this activity under the Creative part. As many of us may have started this activity to not get bored — what else you will do inside the home?

Still, some people do have initiated to start knowing their physical body and seriously work on it.

To know why ‘Sweat is their fat-crying.’

Broader Perspective Over Death And Basic Needs

COVID-19 in the year 2020 is like a curse to us.

Every other relative in your family, my family, having heard the news of deaths sometimes hospitalized, all due to COVID-19 cases.

We can’t be sure about this, but this disease (never-seen-before) has pushed all of us to understand what our basic needs are.

At least, it has implanted a thought to differentiate what is the real need and what are the desires. After the lockdown, everyone (especially young minds) surely will view the world in a different way (this time, by knowing the truth more often).

Helping hand

“Man doesn’t cook, man don’t mop on the floor. It’s not their trait.”

I hope people do get aware of this as a myth. And it’s a myth.

  • Household chores

From sweeping and mopping the floor to cleaning the desk or a dining-table, everyone was scared to do it under the pressure of their Mum’s yell, isn’t it?

  • Cooking

Now, this is again a myth. Many male-chefs are achieving awards internationally, we all are watching them, then why a male inside the home can’t cook.

All thanks to this lockdown, people did get aware of learning the basics of how to cook.

This could, again, be a nicer kick to learn this.

Every coin possesses two sides, this has the other side too.

Overuse of Social Media

After the news of the mass-promotion by almost all institutions to students, their motive led to an unclear and distracted path.

We can understand, there are several good benefits of social media. But over time, it has also observed that the use of social media is rising.

Moreover, people indulge in some controversies TikTok v/s YouTube, Sushant Singh Rajput V/s Bollywood, which makes no sense if they only spend their whole day watching and discussing the same.

On this side of the coin, many have become lazy, even more after the lockdown.

As if they were just waiting for a chance to finish the bucket list of web series and movies.

Coming back to John and Sam, it’s up to you, to whom you’d like to become. But learning from Sam, have a meaningful journey beyond.

Which one of them do you find yourself?
